FREEDOM RUN® is a supplemental software application (program) designed to be used by 5th and 8th grade Texas students to master TEKS Social Studies and prepare for the 8th grade social studies STAAR test. All materials are completely aligned with the TEKS, in fact the TEKS are the heart of Freedom Run. It is created specifically to solve this current issue of TEKS mastery that students are having at this grade level. All materials are fully bilingual (English and Spanish) and can be used as needed. Freedom Run is specially designed for Texas 8th Grade Social Studies TEKS with the added benefit of providing the bilingual component for districts in Texas with high LEP populations.The program consists of various modules and administrative tools for teachers and runs on a dedicated and reliable server platform on a 24 hr / 7 day a week schedule.
APP 1: is a basic chronological timeline which allows the students to have a frame of reference for important events and dates of US History. challenges students with basic knowledge questions to demonstrate a grasp of important Social Studies facts through 7 interactive modules.The application serves as an excellent training tool and bridge program for students in 4th and 7th grades that would prepare to use the full version in their continuing grades.
APP 2: challenges students with questions and concepts at a higher comprehension level. Freedom Run 2 uses critical thinking charts as a model. This level consists of modules that cover all content as established in the TEKS (U.S. History through 1877).
Track Module: The administrative module helps teachers and administrators keep a registry of all activity within the Applications. This module allows teachers to send customized practices, exams, benchmarks as test prep material to students, based on specific TEKS or areas that need reinforcement.
Training: The program is very user‐friendly. However, supplemental training is available online or on‐site depending on district needs both for students and administrators. Freedom Run Incorporate teacher professional development in various formats, including face‐to‐face and online (video, tutorials, and webinars). Seven video training session modules are available to shows the basic characteristics of the program.
