For students with disabilities, the practice work and tests can be individually modified according to the students Individual Education Plan (IEP). The program audio/video component, allows for oral and visual instruction in English and Spanish for every module. The fact that the teachers can assign customized practice, tests and benchmarks to individual students allows for the use of Freedom Run during the Response To Intervention (RTI) process.

As the students are able to work independently through the modules, a Gifted and Talented student will be able to work at their own pace. The higher‐level questioning strategies will stretch all students thinking and reasoning. The teacher can use the module videos as jumping off point for deeper research opportunities for the Gifted and Talented students. The teachers can assign customized practice, tests and benchmarks to individual students.

 Freedom Run engages students of every type of learning styles thru:

3. Varied questioning strategies,
4. Spanish and English instruction, and
5. Graphic organizers.

As a supplemental program, Freedom Run enhances and reteaches material the students have learned during the Social Studies classroom instruction.The critical thinking skills are developed and enhanced thru the varied questioning strategies such as: chronological timeline, compare and contrast, cause and effect, multiple choice, and graphic organizers.

Students are quickly engaged with the graphics, contest like answering strategies, as well as the video lessons that they have at their fingertips. As they work through the lessons, they are challenged with questions that fall throughout Blooms Taxonomy of Objectives. Students are challenged by questioning strategies from charts, graphs and photos, required to understand relationships between events looking for both causes and effects of these events as well as create timelines of important events throughout history.

The program has been used by Teachers and Administrators in INDIVIDUAL or GROUP student settings. Freedom Run allows for the use of various instructional settings and tools, which can be used to support whole group instruction, small group instruction and personalized learning. It also allows for teachers to create quizzes and tests at varying levels of difficulty used on‐level as well as an opportunity for extension in the classroom. Video clips (via Vimeo) supplement materials for small group and student‐to‐student interaction.

Classrooms that implement Freedom Run as a supplemental resource for meeting social studies objectives, also receive additional materials and tools to differentiated instruction. Freedom Run has everything necessary for the student to work independently without the need of a tutor or teacher. The program uses slides of content, videos and audio for the student to learn the concepts. Afterwards the same student can access the practices to verify that their learning has been successful. If it is not successful, the system returns the student to review the content and return to practice. The application allows for:

• Inquiry‐based Learning
• Self‐directed learning
• Re‐teach content

Title, Description, Cause and Effect of the event, Critical Information, Illustrations, Task icon, Zoom button (magnify the content in a window), Audio button. After reviewing the content of the module, the student is given the opportunity to practice and show mastery of the lesson. If mastery is not reached, the system returns the student to review the content and return to practice. A student must master the lesson in order to pass the module.
